Candlelight is casting its glow on new genres and artists, starting with an ode to Hip-hop. You’ll hear tributes to both classic and contemporary Hip-hop musicians, with songs including ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ by Coolio, ‘Passionfruit’ by Drake, and plenty of medleys from the likes of 2Pac, Outkast, Eminem, and Jay-Z. These songs will all be reimagined in classical style at First Unitarian Church Baltimore.
Neo-soul icons are getting a magical Candlelight tribute in Baltimore this season. From legends like Prince and D’Angelo to new kids on the block like Frank Ocean and SZA, some of the genre’s most beloved pioneers are getting the classical treatment inside The Baltimore Museum of Art. Listeso String Quartet will be performing songs such as “Purple Rain”, “Ex-Factor”, “Thinkin Bout You” and many more neo-soul classics in a soothing candlelit setting.
Nothing pulls on the heartstrings quite like hearing Adele’s biggest hits performed on strings in a serene candlelit setting. The Baltimore Museum of Art is opening its doors to the Candlelight series. With over 100 years of history, the BMA “was founded on the belief that access to art and ideas is integral to a vibrant and healthy civic life.” In collaboration with the BMA’s striking setting, Candlelight invites Baltimore audiences to uncover new dimensions to their favorite music at the home of 95,000 works of art.
Creative Alliance has brought together artists from different backgrounds since its inception in 1995. The multi-purpose space is all about artistic expression and celebrating culture in Baltimore. With two locations, they’ve hosted more than 150 live performances, film screenings, dance parties, and more. Clearly, the arts center is not new to hosting performances and art shows for the community, but this summer, it’s adding two intimate candlelit tribute concerts to its list of shows.

The Candlelight series typically takes place twice each night with two back-to-back 65-minute performances. Doors will open 45 minutes prior to each show.
Note that for the safety of our audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
